Infrastructure
The platform runs on an on-premise Kubernetes cluster at the client's facility, with full cloud replication and end-to-end encryption at rest and in transit. We chose Kubernetes because this platform cannot go down. When a nurse can't pull her schedule or a referral doesn't route to staff, patient care is directly affected. Kubernetes gives us self-healing containers that restart automatically on failure, built-in load balancing that distributes traffic across multiple instances so no single node becomes a bottleneck, and zero-downtime rolling deployments so updates never take the platform offline. The same orchestration layer manages both the on-premise cluster and the cloud replication, keeping data sovereign at the client's facility while maintaining an always-current offsite copy. Role-based access control separates office staff from field nurses at the application layer, and no patient data is ever transmitted in plaintext.
